"Gemma was born in 1978, into a Catholic family, in Camigliano, Italy.  From an early age she gave herself body and soul to Christ.  At eighteen she made the vow of chastity, and soon after she began to have mystical experiences.  A few years later Jesus gave her the gift of the stigmata.  Gemma loved Jesus unconditionally and suffered for Him as a way of showing Him her unconditional love.  She was beautified by Pope Pius XI in 1933 and was canonized by Pope Pius XII in 1940.  Her feast day is April 11th"
